 Russian Rotary Conference

OrphanAct made a PowerPoint presentation at the Russian Rotary Conference in Blagoveschenck this June.  Numerous Russian Rotarians voiced an interest in having their club sponsor children’s projects.  During the visit Lida Sclocchini, the Director of OrphanAct in Russia, and I visited children’s facilities in Blagoveschenck, Khabarovsk, and Irkutsk.  Here are some photos of the children wemet.

In the coming months I will talk about orphanages and hospitals Lida and I visited with other Rotarians.  These children are from an orphanage in Khabarovsk.  The orphanage is for children from 3 to 7 years old and had many needs.

This summer will be an especially interesting time for OrphanAct.  Russian Rotarians will be visiting orphanages and hospitals in their city to take photos and collect information about children’s facilities they are working with.  They will be emailing these photos and information to OrphanAct volunteers in the U. S. and Canada.  These volunteers will be putting the photos and information on to the OrphanAct website.

It will be a time to watch the website start to change and develop.  If you would like to be part of this volunteer effort just send us an email.

Also, be on the lookout for new projects listed on the website that your Rotary club could fund.  These projects should appear later in the summer.
