LITERACY PROJECT

ROTARY INTERNATIONAL

Rotary Clubs throughout Hawaiiare asked to adopt schools and donate dictionaries to third graders in support of Rotary International’s Goal of universal literacy for all.

Maui Rotary has taken up the challenge, provided dictionaries to many of our islands third graders.

The children are delighted and excited to receive the gift of knowledge – below are some of their thank you notes…….

Lisa Yosida stepped up as the Chairperson to lead this campaign.  It is with much gratitude that we thank her for her efforts.

With Lisa's guidance and the help of our fellow Rotarians we distributed 250 dictionaries to third grade students at 11 different schools.  Thank you everyone.

Many many thank you letters were received. Some were presented in book form and others in written sheets with words and pictures.  Unfortunately, the amount and the size of the "Thank Yous" were prohibitive and except for the ones below could not be shared in this area at this time.
